Dana Corp.'s Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division and Gunite Corp. are partnering to manufacture and sell the Dana Spicer LMS Hub System.

Gunite will build the hubs and Dana and Eaton Corp.'s Roadranger marketing arm will sell and support them.
Gunite, headquartered in Rockford, IL., has developed a precision manufacturing and assembly process designed specifically for the program. The hub systems will be shipped directly from Gunite's manufacturing facility in Elkhart, IN, to OEM customers.
The LMS Hub System was originally designed and marketed by Eaton before transferring to Dana as part of the sale of Eaton's axle and brake businesses. The system's design controls bearing adjustment and eliminates installation variables that cause excessive end play leading to premature wheel seal failures. As well as Gunite hubs, the system uses Outrunner oil bath seals and Timken bearings.
It is approved for both on- and on/off- highway applications and is available in a wide range of axle ratings up to 14,600 pounds for steer axles, and 46,000 pounds for drive axles. Warranty coverage is for three years or 350,000 miles on both drive and steer axles, with Dana-approved lube.
