U.S. Trucking, Louisville, KY, has completed the acquisition of Checkmate Truck Brokerage Inc., a privately held freight broker headquartered in Homestead, FL, and Maverick Truck Brokerage Inc., a privately held broker headquartered in Ft. Myers, FL.
Dan Pixler, U.S. Trucking president and ceo, said the acquisitions would expand the company's revenue base in non-asset, fee-based businesses which represent approximately 70% of total current revenues. The company would benefit from greater economies of scale, operating efficiencies and improved margins and profits. The acquisition was expected to increase revenues to more than $65 million within the first year.
