Isuzu Motors Ltd. and DaimlerChrysler are working together to develop a data system for delivery-truck fleets in Japan to enhance load tracking and improve service.

Although Isuzu is 49% owned by General Motors, the Japanese affiliate of DaimlerChrysler will work with the company to create a "vehicle-oriented data network that provides operators and customers with detailed delivery and navigation data." The system will link customers with drivers and transport companies, distributing real-time delivery information.
The initiative is described as part of Japan's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) master plan. There was no information provided regarding any ultimate plans to market this product internationally once developed.
