Less-than-truckload carrier Motor Cargo Industries, based in Salt Lake City, has opened a new terminal in Reno, NV.

The 50,000-square-foot, $6 million facility is located on approximately 12 acres, has 84 dock doors and modern maintenance facility. The new facility, which is owed by the company, replaces the previous Reno facility, which was leased.
"The Reno/Sparks market has experienced spectacular growth over the last several years," said Marshall Tate, president and CEO. "As this market continues to evolve into a key distribution center for the western region, Motor Cargo will be well positioned to accommodate the increased demand."
The opening of the new Reno facility is part of an ongoing infrastructure investment program by Motor Cargo. The company plans to spend about $13 million in capital improvements during 2000, of which approximately $10 million is budgeted for rolling stock.
