Navistar's Melrose Park (IL) engine plant and two engine and foundry operations in Indianapolis have received ISO 14001 certification.

The facilities achieved the certification more than two years before the deadline for all suppliers set by the engine group's largest customer, Ford Motor Co. Navistar has a goal of achieving ISO 14001 certification in all of its manufacturing facilities by the end of 2002.
Since establishing an Environmental Protection Policy in 1991, Navistar has received 35 environmental awards and recognition from outside entities including state and local governments, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Canadian Ministry of Environment, and various recycling and water reclamation organizations.
