The Truckload Carriers Assn.'s 2000 annual meeting will revolve around the Internet, with the theme "eTruckload: Make the Connection."

The meeting will be held March 19-22 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando), FL.
"We're living in a high-tech world, and the 2000 annual meeting has all the speakers, business sessions, entertainment and exhibits that can help truckload carrier executives and their staffs embrace -- and profit from -- the trends of the future," says TCA Chairman Gary Baumhover.
Attendees will hear from Mark Walsh, president and CEO of VerticalNet, a developer of business-to-business vertical communities of content and e-commerce on the Internet.
A panel of shippers, receivers and truck drivers will discuss ways to eliminate wasted productivity and downtime at the docks. A forum of executives from major truck manufacturers will discuss the latest trends in trucks and the future of electronic engines, aerodynamics, fuel consumption, safety features, reliability and ease of maintenance.
Another panel will discuss what the transportation industry will look like in the relatively near future.
