Customers of Con-Way Transportation Services can now send their less-than-truckload freight pick-up requests on the company's web site.

Con-Way, which operates a national network of three less-than-truckload regional trucking companies, was the first LTL carrier to launch an Internet web site, in 1995.
The new service is called Web Pickup Requests. Growing customer use of the Con-Way web site, extensive beta testing and customer input led to the design of the new service. Customers can send their pick-up requests from either the QuickTools or PowerTools areas of the web site. No registration or password is required if the request is made from the QuickTools menu. If the user is a registered customer for secured access to the PowerTools section of the site, Con-Way can identify their shipping information from their database, and automatically pre-populate their pickup request. This reduces the data entry time and speeds up the process. All online pickup requests will be confirmed with the customer by either e-mail or phone.
Customers also can now file and track a cargo loss or damage claim online.
