Sterling was launched in its fifth country this week with Sterling de Mexico.

Sterling's trucks, dealers and Mexican organization were unveiled in Mexico city, first at a press conference and later at a reception and dinner for customers.
Sterling will offer all of its truck models in Mexico, beginning with the L7500, LT7500, LT9500 and ST9500 SilverStar. Other models will be offered in the future, including the summer 2000 introduction of the new Acterra line of medium-duty trucks and tractors unveiled to the U.S. market in September.
Five Sterling Trucks dealers will be in place by the end of 1999, located in Mexico City, Monterrey, Cordoba, Torreon and San Luis Potosi. These dealers, as a group, cover more than half of the total Mexican truck market. Sterling expects that number to more than double by mid-2000, with coverage of all of Mexico's major markets.
"From the very first, Freightliner Corp. has always planned for Sterling to be sold in Mexico," said Jim Hebe, Freightliner president and CEO.
