All lanes are again open on the Interstate 110 bridge over the Back Bay in Biloxi, MS, which has been closed to southbound truck traffic for more than two months.
The bridge, which was damaged in mid-June by a barge carrying a crane, was closed Aug. 15 to repair the damaged support beam. Although the Mississippi Department of Transportation reopened all but one lane of the bridge Saturday afternoon, truck traffic was still restricted until the job was finished yesterday.
For two months, commercial truck traffic that needed to reach the south side of the bay had to detour along Mississippi 609 at Ocean Springs to U.S. 90.
