Memphis, TN, is now the headquarters of one of the largest dealers of Navistar International trucks.
The Memphis Business Journal reports that Diamond Cos. was formed last month, bringing together three Navistar dealerships with a total of 15 locations: Memphis-based Mid-America International Trucks, Little Rock, AR- based Diamond International Trucks, and Kansas City-based KCR International Trucks.
The Diamond Cos.' dealerships will continue to cater to the individual owner-operator, as well as small and large fleets, according to the newspaper.
The new company will be able to buy parts at a volume discount and have increased purchasing power for new trucks. All of the locations will be under the same computer system by the end of the year. The 15 dealerships will continue to operate as separate corporations, keeping their individual identities and name recognition.
