Commercial trucks are being detoured around the I-110 southbound bridge over the Back Bay in Biloxi, MS, while the damaged bridge is being repaired. It could be a month or more before the route is open again.

The bridge was damaged when a crane on a barge struck the section of the bridge that contains the drawbridge. The northbound lanes weren't damaged.
Authorities say that while they don't think the bridge is dangerous, they felt it would be prudent to re-route commercial truck traffic and shift the remaining traffic from the right lane to the left.
Commercial truck traffic that needs to reach the south side of the bay should detour along Mississippi 609 at Ocean Springs to U.S. 90.
