Dec. 17 – Because of the interest shown in the results of the Truckload Carriers Assn. recent survey of refrigerated drivers, TCA will conduct a similar survey of dry van carriers.

The association reported in its newsletter that the purpose of the study is to identify driver attitudes and reduce driver turnover. The survey asks drivers how much time they spend waiting to load and unload, as well as the actual time spent loading and unloading. The survey will also ask drivers to list the best and worst shippers and receivers.
The study will be conducted by Martin Labbe Associates and will be mailed to a random sample of dry van motor carriers, who will distribute them to their drivers.
Results of the survey will be presented during TCA’s annual meeting in Las Vegas, March 15-18, 1999.
