Nov. 2 – A new law in North Carolina makes it illegal to operate a commercial vehicle with even a trace of alcohol in the body. The measure drops the permissible concentration of alcohol from .04% to zero. The legal limit for most drivers is .08.
The package was developed by a task force let by Lt. Gov. Dennis Wicker. At the signing ceremony, he thanked the state’s trucking association for endorsing the no-tolerance measure.
