Sept. 15 – The ownership of Umthun Trucking of Eagle Grove, IA, is no longer in the hands of the family that founded it 51 years ago.
Umthun has been sold to two of the company’s executive officers. Umthun was founded by Steve Umthun in 1946 and had been owned by brothers Virgil and Joe Umthun until the sale.
The new owners are Alan Coyne, who has served as president and chief executive officer since July 1997, and Anthony Russell, who has held various management positions with the company and has served as executive vice president and chief operating officer since June 1997. Few changes are planned.
