Truckers should note traffic restrictions that will take place during improvements to the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan. The three-phase construction inlcudes removing and replacing five sections of the grated roadway of the bridge, and will affect the travel of large vehicles.
Vehicles wider than 11 feet will not be permitted to cross during phase 1 of construction, from April 13 through May 1. During phases 2 and 3 — from May 2 through May 22 — vehicles 10 to 14 feet wide will be allowed to cross only at 5 a.m. daily.
