The Professional Truck Driver Institute of America (PTDIA) has elected its new board of directors that includes 14 new directors and Crete Carrier Corp. Chairman Duane Acklie as its incoming chairman.
Acklie will replace Herb Schmidt, CFI senior vice president, who steps down as PTDIA chairman after serving the post for 11 years.
“The industry is at a critical crossroads where we must take a stand for what will have long-term implications for better driver training, highway safety and employment in the trucking industry,” Acklie said.
Motor carriers, insurers, drivers, educators, safety advocates, licensing and manufacturing leaders and regulatory bodies are said to be represented in the newly elected board.
