The Professional Truck Driver Institute of America, the group which has been developing training standards for entry-level truck drivers, recently received a key endorsement from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.
Governed by a 29-member board of directors, PTDIA has worked with driver schools, drivers, motor carriers, insurers, students, regulatory bodies, funding organizations and government agencies to create entry-level driver skill standards that reflect real-world job requirements.
“We’re pleased to endorse PTDIA’s standards for course certification requirements, tractor-trailer curriculum guidelines and skills for entry-level drivers,” said William Fiste, CVSA executive director. “We commend PTDIA for leading a national stakeholder initiative to develop these standards that help keep our highways safe for everyone.”
