Q. Can drivers satisfy the Canadian ELD standards with a smartphone ELD app, or do you need to use an in-cab device?
Can drivers satisfy the Canadian ELD standards with a smartphone ELD app...
A. There are some OEMs that have factory-installed telematic devices that you can leverage. First check with your truck’s OEM to see if they currently have this solution. The next question to ask is “what specific data am I receiving through this device.” Not all OEMs are the same and can provide the same data. You may be capturing more data that your OEM can provide currently, so please compare the list of what they can provide and what you need.
