Got Questions? Winning Technologies for Carriers, Brokers and Shippers

Q. I get it, we live in a technological age, but we’ve been doing just fine. Why do I even need to bother worrying about pie-in-the-sky technology marvels?

A. To many, the frequent message about the benefits of “Cloud,” machine learning and AI might seem to be “pie in the sky”. But, the short answer is that the wise use of technology is critical to the future of your business. Technological innovations, and disruptions they cause, are increasing at a rate never seen before, especially in logistics and brokerage.

For example, who would have dreamed that aerial drones would be making deliveries in our lifetime? But now, several companies, including UPS and FedEx, are poised to make this a reality. And if Alphabet Wing is to be believed (and it seems dangerous to doubt them), commercial drone delivery is ready to take flight once the public safety can be assured. In commercial vehicles, autonomous technology and AI (artificial intelligence) are making in-roads, with tests of driverless vehicles commonplace. Some experts say the technology is available, and predict that, soon, they may be the way many goods are transported.

And keep in mind technology such as smart devices were pie-in-the-sky just 15 years ago. Today, many of us can’t live without them. The people selling cameras and watches might have thought Smartphones were “pie in the sky”.

And, while we certainly can’t live in the future, it may be here sooner than we expect. The right technology will make you more productive, more efficient, and more profitable. Frankly, this is an easy decision; now is the time to Tech-Up!
