Fleet FAQ

Got Questions? Modern Telematics Best Practices

Q. How secure is my telematics solution?

A. Security in telematics is very important. As fleets grow lapses in security can lead to severe consequences. It's important to familiarize yourself with the telematics security standards in the industry. Here is white paper from Geotab to help you get started https://www.geotab.com/white-paper/cybersecurity-management-telematics/

Request basic security documentation from your telematics provider. Here’s an example from Geotab TOMs Document. Ask a few questions about the team responsible for security, who is responsible, number of people dedicated, etc. What security based certifications do they have or are they working on accomplishing. This should give you an idea of what level of security you have.
