Meritor is offering regional aftermarket training events.

Meritor announced additional training initiatives, new features for its online parts ordering and tracking systems, and new all-makes air disc brake rotors during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.

The company now offers its customers a variety of training options. The training focuses on giving customers specific product knowledge in order to keep trucks on the road, explained Doug Dole, general manager, product strategies at Meritor, during a press conference during HDAW in Dallas Jan. 28.

Regional training events have been planned in 14 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Regional training events for parts counter personnel, salespeople and management this year will be held in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; Atlanta, Georgia; Edmonton and Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada; Fresno, California; Denver, Colorado; Rochester, New York; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Baltimore, Maryland; Fontana, California; Southgate, Michigan; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Times and specific locations are available at MeritorPartsXpress.com.

In addition, the company is offering Interactive Distance Training, a web-based training options that allows attendees to interact with the instructor. There are also monthly training sessions on the second Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. EST. Customers can also request in-person training sessions at their locations.

All this is in addition to online training available via Meritor Bull Pen, which provides individual training that can be tailored to a technician’s needs.

MeritorPartsXpress

During the same press conference, the company announced new features and enhancements to MeritorPartsXpress.com that give customers new tools to find, benchmark, order and track replacement parts.

The 24-hour, self-service portal can be used to order parts and act as resource for finding product information on more than 100,000 aftermarket parts.

In addition to expanding the catalog search function to include custom drill-downs for specific product categories, MeritorPartsXpress.com now features:

  • Optional email confirmation notifications for stock and emergency orders to let customers know when an order is in process or has shipped
  • Cross-referencing to deliver information on competitive part numbers and product alternatives across brands, fit, form and functions
  • Search-by-image tool for end yokes
  • Visual search interactive function that helps users find products
  • More images on the product detail pages
  • New “My Orders” portal for registered users to track the status of orders, download open order boards, view invoices and request returns

According to Aaron Bickford, Meritor’s vice president of Aftermarket, North America, “MeritorPartsXpress.com is a one-stop hub for literature and training resources.”

All-Makes ADB Rotors

The company also announced all-makes aftermarket air disc brake (ADB) rotors for linehaul, refuse, vocational, coach and trailer applications.

Designed with high-quality cast iron to keep peak temperatures low during brake operation, Meritor said, the rotors offer durability and long friction life as well as excellent fade resistance. The cooling vanes are the same design as Meritor Genuine first-fit rotors specified for OE use, according to the company.
