Spartan Motors is recalling certain 2012 to 2018 model-year Fleet Services/Utilimaster Reach vehicles. According to the recall, improper electrical grounding may cause the windshield wiper motor to stay and become inoperative.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administation (NHTSA) announced campaign number 19V286 and is recalling potentially 8,822 units due to the potential impact on visibility.

Spartan will be contacting owners. Once the vehicle is taken to the dealer, the dealer will install a ground wire in between the wiper motor and the vehicle to stop it from stalling. There will be no cost to the vehicle owner. The recall began in May 2019.
