A decade ago, old-school drivers and fleet managers might have snickered at concepts such as aerodynamic tractors, trailer boat tails, wide-based single tires and automated manual transmissions.

But today, all of these tools and more are readily available to fleets that want to focus on improving fuel economy. And even better: there’s help available – lots of it.

On May 30 at 2 p.m. EDT, Heavy Duty Trucking magazine and Citgo will host a free webinar, “Pushing Beyond 10 MPG.” Mike Roeth, executive director of the North American Council for Freight Efficiency, will sit down with Henry Albert, president of Albert Transport, and Joel Morrow, director of research and development for Ploger Transportation, to discuss how they have improved their company's fuel economy to push beyond 10 mpg.

The webinar will touch on how the landscape of fuel economy has changed in the last decade, the impact of new technologies on fuel economy, and the substantial effect that drivers can have on fuel efficiency.
