Iowa 80 Truckstop’s 39th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree is set to kick off on July 12th with three straight days of trucking events, exhibitions, and entertainment.

This year’s Jamboree will include all of familiar events including the Super Truck Beauty Contest, Antique Truck Display, Iowa pork chop cookout and over 150 exhibits.

It will also host a Trucker Olympics, carnival games, two fireworks displays, a 100th birthday part of the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum’s 1918 model year Independent brand truck. Built nearby in Davenport Iowa, Independent produced these trucks from 1917 to 1921 in two different models: a 1 Ton and 2 Ton.

“The Independent Motor Truck Company built trucks for less than a decade in Davenport, Iowa”, said Dave Meier, museum curator. “This particular truck is one of few surviving examples and was found on a ranch in South Dakota.”

As always, the Jamboree will feature live music. Attendees will be able to see a performance by country music singer Logan Mize, hear southern rock sounds from The Kentucky Headhunters, and watch the musical talents of Eric Chesser.

Admission and parking to the event and all concerts is free. Shuttles will be provided from the parking area to the event grounds. For more information, click here.

“There will be fun for everyone. Trucks, games, music, food, fireworks and more,” said Heather DeBaillie, marketing manager for Iowa 80 Truckstop. “We are proud to celebrate America’s Truckers for the important job they do in keeping America rolling.”
