Maverick Transportation announced another pay raise for its drivers, this time offering a 5-cent-per-mile increase for its over the road temperature control division drivers.

The pay increase goes into effect on April 29, and will bring starting pay to 51-55 cents per mile and student starting pay to 45 cents per mile. This is the third pay increase that Maverick drivers have received in the past few months. The company offered a 5-cent increase to its flatbed and over the road divisions at the end of last year.

“It’s a top priority for us to be on the leading edge of driver compensation,” says John Culp, president of the Arkansas-based carrier. “If we can put more money in our drivers’ pockets, we do it.”

Maverick drivers are also given pay increases up to five years, pay for performance bonus, and a driver referral bonus program. Other driver benefits include: home time, weekend guaranteed pay, paid orientation and training, paid weigh station bypass and tolls, a 401(k) plan with company match, company-paid life insurance, health and dental insurance options, and paid vacation.

Temperature control division drivers are entitled to $1,000 weekly minimum guaranteed pay. Maverick is also currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for drivers with one year of verifiable experience.
