Goodyear has introduced the precure Fuel Max LHD G505D retread, which is designed to extend the life cycle of the Goodyear Fuel Max LHD G505D long-haul tire.

The retread is SmartWay-verified and matches the tread design of the Fuel Max LHD with 21/32 tread depth to improve both fuel economy and durability. Goodyear said that it is more fuel efficient than its predecessor, the Goodyear G305 AT PC.

The Fuel Max LHD G505D precure joins Goodyear’s lineup of Smart-Way verified retreads including the G572 LDH Fuel Max, the G316 AT Fuel Max, the G392A SSD Fuel Max, the G394A SST Fuel Max and the G682 RSD Fuel Max. The first size of the tread is available now and more will be introduced in the first quarter of 2015.

“Fleets that want to extend their tire investment through retreading are looking for a wide range of performance benefits,” said Brian Buckham, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems general manager of product marketing.

“The new Fuel Max LHD G505D precure is a ‘super-fuel’ tread and our most fuel-efficient retread product to date," he continued. "But it also has been designed for long operation and optimal traction, which are other in-demand benefits.”
