The InterCore Driver Alertness Detection System is a cloud based service that monitors driver alertness in real time using a camera linked to a smartphone. It scans a driver’s face for signs of fatigue and alerts the driver and dispatchers to unsafe driver conditions.

The windshield-mounted camera scans the driver’s face and generates a warning when it believes the driver has fallen into a lower level of alertness. It can warn drivers and dispatchers as much as two hours before a driver reaches a critically reduced state of awareness, says InterCore.

The phone will alert the driver through visual and audible signals and at the same time send alerts to third parties including dispatch centers.

Information is transmitted to a driver’s smartphone through a Bluetooth connection and can then use the phone’s cell connection to transmit to DADS cloud services. The cloud service can also monitors and collects data on the driving patterns of individuals in a fleet. This allows fleets to improve efficiency and productivity.
