The new Dometic Split-System Blizzard 134a is a battery-operated auxiliary air conditioning unit for trucks.

The Blizzard air conditioning system is a highly efficient auxiliary A/C unit that allows truckers to cool their sleeper cabs without running the truck engine. The Blizzard is simple to install and provides 10-plus hours of cooling.

Available in 7,000 and 10,000 BTU models, the battery-powered split system allows the noise of the condenser unit to remain outside while the quieter evaporator unit blows cool air to the cab’s interior. The Blizzard is SmartWay and EPA certified. It uses environmentally safe and commonly available R134a refrigerant.

With a very small footprint relative to cooling capacity, the Split-System Blizzard A/C unit requires minimal installation space, according to the company, and its flexible refrigerant line sets require minimal holes in the cab floor or panels. Units and line sets are pre-charged, and refrigerant line connections made with no-leak quick-connect fittings, allowing for easier and faster installation. Easily accessible external service ports provide quick and easy service access if needed with use of existing equipment.

The Split-System Blizzard is also available with optional electric heat to provide heated comfort without running the engine.
