Freightliner Trucks announced that Covenant Transport has ordered the Freightliner In-Cab Training (FIT) System for its fleet. The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based truckload carrier is one of the first major fleets to order the exercise and flexibility system as a reward and incentive program for its drivers.

Developed in collaboration with Rolling Strong, the FIT System is the first-ever OEM-designed and integrated in-cab exercise solution. It provides a simple and convenient full-body strength and conditioning workout for drivers in the comfort of their own cab.

Covenant Transport was introduced to the system in 2012 during its initial test rollout and user experience research.

To further enhance the driver wellness experience, Covenant Transport has branded one of its Freightliner tractors the “Driver Wellness Workout Truck.” The company’s on-site health coach uses the workout truck to train drivers how to use the system.

The FIT System features a triple-grip handle, which enables users to interchange three bands to change resistance levels. The system uses existing seat tether and bunk resistant mounting points for installing custom brackets, which makes the system easy to attach and use.

The system is available as a factory-installed option in 72-inch raised roof Freightliner Cascadia sleeper cab models and for retrofitting in Cascadia, Coronado, Century Class and Columbia sleepers.
