Robocom Systems International launched the latest version of its R-Mobile System for real-time communication between drivers and dispatchers.

R-Mobile is part of Robocom's Centerline Transportation Management System. Centerline is a suite of business solutions designed for less-than-truckload and truckload businesses. The dispatch module in Centerline communicates with the newest technologies for mobile users, across a cellular data backbone.

A GPS card in the mobile device sends frequent location updates to the Centerline Dispatcher and the position of every vehicle in the fleet is tracked on a map on the dispatcher's screen. R-Mobile uses a new Web server along with a series of intuitive functions on the mobile device, all developed by Robocom, eliminating the need for expensive equipment and satellite communications.

Companies using R-Mobile have already reported a significant reduction in overall operating costs. R-Mobile improves driver and dispatcher productivity, reduces fuel costs, improves customer service and increases revenue.

R-Mobile is the first in a series of new modules being developed by Robocom to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of trucking companies. Future releases of Centerline will expand R-Mobile functions to include delivery and pickup data, signature capture, wireless cross-dock functions and provide expanded Web access to shipment data.
