TransCore opened its CarrierWatch Insurance Monitoring Center to help truckload freight brokers, 3PLs, and shippers quickly and safely bring onboard new carriers and monitor those they use on a regular basis.

The center also works with insurance agents to investigate certificate of insurance data regarding general liability, auto (truck) liability, workers compensation, and contingency cargo requirements. Separately, the center will provide resources to help freight intermediaries and carriers navigate increasingly complex insurance requirements.

The center is headed by Kathi Marth, AAI, CIC, CPIW and CPCU, who has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including a decade of transportation insurance management.

Initial services include procuring and monitoring carriers' insurance certificates, including those carriers who are not part of TransCore's DAT Network of load boards. CarrierWatch also monitors carriers' authority and CSA scores, and maintains a database housing millions of carrier records, which helps identify and protect against "chameleon" carriers and others who engage in fraudulent business practices.
