New Peterbilt Premium Seats offer improved ergonomic and comfort features and will be standard on Peterbilt's Model 587.

Proprietary to Peterbilt, the Peterbilt Premium Seats have gone through extensive design testing to help provide drivers optimal comfort and an enhanced work environment.

An optional climate control system provides heating and cooling controls for additional comfort. Drivers can quickly adjust and maintain comfortable seat temperatures throughout varying climates.

An automatic height modification feature has been added to prevent the seat from changing positions when a driver ascends or descends from the seat. Extra suspension zones within the seat have been positioned to reduce the topping and bottoming of suspensions. In addition, an adjustable shock lets drivers modify damper settings to customize seat positioning to their personal preference.

The Peterbilt premium seat also contains several improved ergonomic features including a proprietary upper backrest recliner, which pivots at shoulder height to fine tune the angle of the upper backrest, improving shoulder and neck support, and reducing fatigue over long hauls. Customizable seat positioning features, such as the adjustable seat tilt lever and the enhanced fore/aft adjustment range, also provide enhanced lumbar support.

"Peterbilt worked to develop a seat with features comparable to luxury automobiles," said Landon Sproull, Peterbilt chief engineer. "The Peterbilt Premium Seats deliver maximum comfort and exceptional reliability."

Peterbilt's Premium seats will be available in December.
