CarrierWeb has added new features to its LogsManager, an electronic on-board recording system for electronic logs that is compliant with the most current federal hours of service regulations.

Using LogsManager, dispatchers and drivers are always aware of the driver's status and availability. All changes to driver duty status are entered electronically on the CarrierMate driver display. Drivers can review their status on their in-cab display, and dispatchers can monitor driver availability on the CarrierWeb customer web site.

According to the company, the system provides dispatchers with better information to assign drivers, trucks, trailers and loads, while also providing compliance managers with all the information needed to meet federal regulations. Using the system, drivers are more accurate in their record keeping and receive audible and text alerts to let them know their hours of service status. Drivers also have current 24-hour log details as well as seven- or eight-day history for law enforcement compliance. The system enables drivers to report on duty, off duty, sleeper berth and driving status with the push of a button, and the system automatically calculates their hours of service.

"Our customers are the source of our product development," said John Marous, president and CEO of CarrierWeb. "We have been providing our customers with HOS data management services for years but now our customers wanted us to take it to the next level so they could go paperless."
