Kinedyne, which manufactures and distributes cargo control products for the transportation industry, has redesigned its tie-down straps to include black edges, gold color webbing and a new stencil pattern.

The new look will be applied to the company's 2-, 3-, and 4-inch-wide Winch and Ratchet strap assemblies, which will now replace the yellow webbing with the gold. The stencil pattern will also include the "Working Load Limit" of the strap assembly in both pounds and kilograms, as well as the Kinedyne logo.

"We've introduced this color change on our strap assemblies in an effort to develop a standard product that we can sell to our markets worldwide," said Jim Calico, Kinedyne's vice president of sales and marketing. "The gold webbing with black edges has been sold to our customers in Canada for years - now, we're making it our global standard. This new color scheme also serves as a differentiator versus some of our competitors."

The new Working Load Limit stencil is in addition to the information that is already printed on the Warning & Ratings tag on strap assemblies. This printing meets the requirements of regulations, which require a downgrade of the limit to 1,000 pounds per inch of width if the tag is either missing or no longer legible.
