McLeod Software has developed a Responsibility Filtering Module, which restricts user access to operational data and assigns business unit responsibility based on a company's hierarchal structure.
The new capability is designed to function with the new versions of LoadMaster IX and PowerBroker II, released in April.

The new feature allows brokers and carriers with brokerage operations to keep orders and movements private from outside agents. This is accomplished by assigning a primary code determined by level of responsibility to data elements such as agents, users, drivers, customers, locations and tractors. Under this feature, users are limited to certain menu options and only their orders, location and customers can be accessed. Order responsibility is assigned at order entry and movement responsibility at the time of pre-assignment or dispatch of equipment.

The new module also restricts access to orders and movements. Customers can assign up to five levels of company hierarchal structure to users, customers, carriers, locations, drivers, tractors and trailers.

"Our new Responsibility Filtering Module has been designed to give customers a flexible and powerful method to segregate or limit the data housed within their transportation management software and make it accessible to their various users, agents and customers as appropriate," said Tom McLeod, president and CEO. "For example, carriers working with owner-operators owning multiple assets can now allow them to view the activity of their own trucks using the full functionality of the LoadMaster/PowerBroker applications without also allowing them access to customers or other sensitive company information in the base system."

The new application also provides improved reporting capabilities, which maintain a historical record of the business unit responsible for revenues regardless of how the organization's structure changes. Responsibility designations are captured on each order and movement. Users receive reports based on their responsibility assignments, providing an efficient way to deliver various types of reports without creating data overload.
