PPG Commercial Coatings has developed an environmentally friendly coating, Corashield, designed to prevent chipping, cracking and marring of painted or unpainted surfaces.
The coating can be used on underbodies, inner wheel wells, fender liners, interior door panels, running boards and other applications. Users can spray, brush or roll Corashield onto exposed surfaces and into restricted areas by spray wands. According to the company, Corashield is also lightweight and sag resistant.
"OEMs have used Corashield with great success," said Dave Chapman, marketing director of PPG. "It's suitable for application over steel, aluminum, fiberglass and most metal primers, plus it can even be topcoated. As a waterborne, zero-VOC product, it's also ecologically sound."
