Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America has introduced a medium-duty aftermarket starter program, the maiden offering for Navistar's I-6 engine family.

The 105P55 starter is now available for engine applications including the DT466, DT530, DT570, HT570, Maxx Force DT, Maxx Force 9 and Maxx Force 10. According to Mitsubishi Electric, the starter is durable, reliable and has an excellent service record. The starter can withstand extreme use and environmental operating conditions, the company says.

Starters are available with a three-year or 350,000-mile OE warranty, a one-year OES warranty and a three-year/unlimited mile aftermarket warranty. When a warranty requires a replacement, it is always with a new product.

"This new starter broadens our offering to our aftermarket customers to include medium-duty as well as heavy-duty applications," said Eric Karr, heavy-duty account manager. "The low warranty failure rate, combined with the industry-leading Diamond-Gard aftermarket warranty, makes this new starter an excellent value."

"This product release is significant in that it launches Mitsubishi Electric starters into the North-American medium-duty aftermarket," said David Stone, executive director of the heavy-duty division. "We will be broadening this offering in the future as opportunities present themselves."
