Kenworth added 30-gallon, under-cab fuel tank options for its T170 Class 5 model, which serves applications in pickup and delivery, general freight, leasing and rental, towing and recovery, landscaping, and construction.

The Kenworth T170 can be ordered with the optional under-cab rectangular steel fuel tanks which include a single, right-hand side tank; and dual right-hand and left-hand side tanks. The dual 30-gallon tank configuration requires an in-cab battery box, or customers can choose to order a battery box which Kenworth temporarily mounts across the frame rails with final installation done by a body builder. The T170 is standard with a 35-gallon, rectangular steel fuel tank.

The Kenworth T170 is a straight truck in a 4x2 configuration with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) up to 19,500 pounds. Standard features include the Paccar PX-6 engine rated at 200 horsepower and 520 pounds-feet of torque, 8,000-pound front axle and 11,500-pound rear axle, hydraulic brakes, low-frame height chassis with 19.5-inch wheels and tires, power door locks, passenger-side electric windows (optional on driver's side), and Kenworth DayLite doors with right-hand peeper window. Customers can choose a manual or automatic transmission.
