Women In Trucking honored nearly 200 female professional drivers with its 7th annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel at this year’s Mid-America Trucking Show.

The nearly 200 women were recognized for their years of service in the trucking industry. Winner of the 2015 Influential Woman in Trucking award, Kari Rihm addressed the audience of nearly 400 attendees. She is the CEO of Rihm Kenworth, a truck dealership based in Saint Paul, Minn.

“You are all pioneers paving the way for women across the country and across the world to participate and succeed in a man’s world,” said Rihm.  “You are pioneers in a modern sense, and pioneers in anything always face obstacles while at the same time, blaze trails for others to follow.”

The event included awards for the Distinguished Woman in Logistics, the Influential Woman in Trucking Award and the WIT Image team. Attendees won door prizes and the Women In Trucking Scholarship foundation gave away numerous prizes as well.

A second Salute to Women Behind the Wheel is scheduled for April 16 in Toronto, Ontario, during the Truckworld truck show. Next year’s U.S. Salute event will be held once again at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky., on March 25, 2017. For more information, click here.
