The Owner-Operator Independent Driver’s Association is welcoming back Laura O’Neill-Kaumo to its Washington D.C. office as director of government affairs and counsel.

She will resume her position leading OOIDA’s DC staff as they pursue efforts on behalf of association members regarding regulatory and legislative issues.

O’Neill-Kaumo previously worked at OOIDA from 2007 to 2013. Since 2013, she has served as an advisor and independent consultant to the association. Her return comes after the departure of Ryan Bowley, who recently relocated to Texas.

Prior to working at OOIDA, she served as staff counsel for the Boston Red Sox; as an aide in the U.S. House of Representatives; and acted as an advisor on several federal campaigns.

O’Neill-Kaumo holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Eastern Michigan University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, School of Law. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
