Fleet Engineers has partnered with Freightliner’s Team Run Smart Pro and fuel efficiency expert Henry Albert, president of Albert Transport Inc., the company announced during a press conference at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.

Albert has been a trucker for more than 30 years and currently operates a Freightliner Cascadia Evolution 72 inch sleeper equipped with Fleet Engineers’ SmartWay Verified air slipper side skirts and AeroFlap mud flaps. The goal of the new partnership is to increase product development opportunities for Fleet Engineers as well as support Albert’s fuel efficiency goals.

Ken Griswold, Fleet Engineers’ vice president of marketing and sales, was the partnership is a good fit because the company recently realigned its product line offering to focus on increasing its value proposition to the market through our aerodynamic solutions, door systems, spray control and pars and accessories for truck and trailers. “Our mission is to enhance overall efficiency for fleets.”

Albert says his goal is to “do as well as I possibly can on fuel. I’m working with Fleet Engineers because we have a mutual commitment to creating greater efficiencies without sacrificing performance.”

He explains that ideally side skirts are pushed down as close to the road as possible, “but there’s the practical issue of being able to operate the truck without damaging the side skirt. By working with me and other operators, the Fleet Engineers team is able to offer the perfect blend of maximum efficiency and maximum usability.”

Griswold says Fleet Engineers has decided to take a “more grassroots approach to conducting research and developing products that target greater efficiency.”
