The Truckload Carriers Association is expanding its benchmarking services by providing multiple levels of subscription based on the needs of each company. The benchmarks allow companies to compare operations against peers and leading trucking companies.

The benchmarking service is now offered in three levels: TCA SnapShot, TCA Benchmarking and TCA Best Practice Groups.

TCA SnapShot is a one-time comparison of key financial metrics based on actual historical data and comes with an additional set of survey questions. TCA Benchmarking is a year-round financial comparison based on historical data plus monthly surveys on industry topics and invitations to exclusive seminars.

TCA Best Practice Groups offers all the features of the other two levels plus best practice sharing group meetings held two to three times per year.

“Participation in the benchmarking program has proven to be the most beneficial strategic and investment decision for Skyline in recent history,” says Jeff Reed, president of Skyline Transportation.

TCA’s benchmarking services use and compare data across several aspects of business, including safety data, IT, HR, maintenance and operations in both qualitative and quantitative formats. Participants receive results based on their company profile that includes comparisons with group average and best-in-class companies.

A company’s ranking is based on geographic coverage, fleet size, total revenue, cargo type and selected business categories within SIC code.
