ATA president Bill Graves sent out a statement announcing that Clint Wheeler, a former ATA member who worked in the executive office, passed away from liver cancer. Wheeler joined the ATA in 1989 before leaving to work at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1997.

"It is with great sadness that I report that Clint Wheeler passed away last night at home after a tenacious and courageous battle with liver cancer," said Graves in a statement. "Clint will be remembred for his devotion to his family and friends, incredible work ethic and commitment to making the world a better place through his philanthropic efforts."

In addition to working for the Chamber of Commerce, Wheeler was also a part of two charity organizations, So Others Might Eat and Operation Smile. Wheeler is survived by his wife and two children.
