Kyle Treadway, president of Kenworth Sales Company in Salt Lake City, Utah, spoke to students at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business about entrepreneurship and marketing.

Treadway was the 2014 Truck Dealer of the Year, an award sponsored by ATD and Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine, and was invited to speak to students. For the past 20 years, professors at Indiana University have helped select the top truck dealer of the year.

Treadway was speaking to students enrolled in a course in the New Venture Growth Management class, a course that focuses on business case studies. He also spoke to the New Venture Business Planning class, a graduate level course focusing on key tools and methods to create a new business venture.

“Kyle raised the bar for our students,” said Chris Littel, a lecturer at the University. “His presentation, insight and answers to students’ questions were spot on and blended perfectly with our course content and goals.”

Treadway discussed the commercial truck industry and his own professional experiences and lessons learned throughout his career.

“It was a pleasure to speak to the students at Indiana University,” said Treadway. “It was very interesting to hear the students dissect my remarks and identify my observations under the rubrics they have studied – I learned a lot.”
