The 2014 Intermodal Expo in Long Beach, Calif., next week will feature representatives from 3PLs, ocean carriers, railroads, ports, industry vendors, shippers and motor carriers who will speak on topics relevant to the intermodal business.
The expo is being put on by the Intermodal Association of North America and takes place from Sept. 22-23 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
There will be four sessions given over two days including:
- Intermodal Leadership Insights: Lance Fritz, President & Chief Operating Officer at Union Pacific Railroad, and David P. Yeager, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Hub Group are scheduled to speak. - Monday, Sept. 22
- Big Alliances, Big Ships, Big Opportunities - How U.S. West Coast Ports are Preparing for the New Era: The talk will feature Steve Bobb, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer of BNSF Railway, Chris Lytle, Executive Director at the Port of Oakland, Gene Seroka, Executive Director at the Port of Los Angeles, Jon Slangerup, Chief Executive of the Port of Long Beach and John Wolfe, Chief Executive Officer at the Port of Tacoma. Steve Rubin, President and CEO of Horizon Lines, will facilitate the discussion. - Monday, Sept. 22
- The Fed Speaks- A View from the Top: Opening keynote remarks by William Strauss, Senior Economic at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. - Tuesday, Sept. 23
- Intermodal Freightcast - Supply, Demand and the Prospects for Higher Rates: Speakers include Larry Gross, Senior Consultant and Noel Perry, Managing Director, both of FTR and Hayes Howard CEO and Publisher of American Shipper. John Larkin, Managing Director at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company will provide commentary and moderate. - Tuesday, Sept. 23
Over 130 companies will be showcasing the latest intermodal products and services. The 2014 Expo will also have a new media lounge and Social Wall to create a digital emphasis for attendees.
