Ohio-based Commercial Vehicle Group has hired a Caterpillar veteran to manage its business and has realigned its aftermarket business.

Ulf Lindqwister will join CVG August 4 as chief administrative officer. He most recently was manager of growth, mergers and acquisitions, and external relationships for Cat electronics. He has a phD in physics and a masters of business administration.

CEO Rich Lavin, another Caterpillar veteran, said in a statement that Lindqwister's "skill set and experience is well suited to more effectively focus our product design, and manufacturing and operating cost structure initiatives in support of our product line management structure.”

The company's North American Aftermarket business is now headed by Pat Miller in his capacity of president of Global Truck & Bus. In addition, a managing director for the Asia-Pacific region and a managing director for the Europe/Middle East/Africa region will report to Miller.

With this structure, the company "can more readily address the unique local needs of our Aftermarket customers in all of the geographies we serve," Lavin said.

Timo Haatanen, president of Global Aftermarket and Bob Averitt, chief information officer, are no longer with the company.

Lavin was brought aboard as CEO a little more than a year ago, in May 2013, to replace outgoing CEO Mervin Dunn.

Commercial Vehicle Group supplies cab-related products and systems for the global commercial vehicle market.
