Most any truck driver will testify they have seen a number of unusual to downright dangerous things done by four-wheelers during their time on the road, but a new non-scientific survey shows just how often peoople engage in some driving flubs.

The poll of 2,000 licensed drivers by the auto insurance price comparison website Insurance.com found one third admit they have gone the wrong way down a one-way street.

The good news is this is still lower than those who say they have drove over a curb in a parking lot or locked their keys in the car, while more than half of drivers say they have forgotten where they parked. The bad news is this is slighty higher than those who admit they have driven away with something on the roof of their car, such as coffee or a purse.

Other findings include 13% saying they couldn’t get out of a round-about and kept driving in circles, while 11% percent admit they have pulled away from a gas pump with the nozzle still in the tank. Nine percent also admit to nearly hitting a person while driving.

The survey also broke down responses by sex, with it showing women more often than men commit such acts, or at least admit they do, though men more frequently admitted to driving away from gas pumps with the nozzle still in the car twice as much as women.

More survey results are on the Insurance.com website.
