The flatbed Pennsylvania-based carrier PGT Trucking has signed a letter of intent to purchase Kelworth Trucking, based in Oklahoma.

Details of the deal have not been released, although PGT expects to complete it by early May.

Kelworth Trucking is a flatbed carrier operating throughout the continental United States and Canada. It has been in business for over 25 years and operates about 100 trucks.

Scotty Jones, president of Kelworth, and his son, Jeff, who is vice president, will join PGT as a part of its management team.

PGT Trucking operates more than 1,000 power units and over 1,500 trailers.

Kelworth Trucking is the second acquisition for PGT Trucking over the past 10 months. Last August, PGT acquired Liedtka Trucking, based in New Jersey.
