The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has expanded emergency declarations it issued earlier this month, waiving enforcement of some federal regulations for certain movements of propane and other home heating fuels due to shortages.

This week it added Florida to the list of states in the Southern region, following an exemption for much of the area being issued on Jan. 21

On Tuesday FMCSA also issued the same type of emergency declaration for North Dakota and South Dakota.

These follow emergency declarations being issued for the Midwest and Eastern regions of the country on Jan 19.

All of the exemptions are in effect through Feb. 11 or for the duration of the emergency, whichever is sooner, according to the agency.
