New online truck stop maps are now available from the Nevada Department of Transportation to assist truck drivers traveling Nevada interstates.

The maps indicate the location of each truck stop on Interstates 15 and 80 and list the number of truck parking spots and the availability of diesel fuel, food and restrooms/showers at each location.

The maps, along with truck permitting information, are available by clicking the truck icon in the center right of the Nevada DOT homepage. Truck stop information for U.S. routes will be coming soon.

In 2011 alone, approximately 110 million tons of goods were transported throughout Nevada, with goods delivered by truck accounting for more than $12.5 billion worth of sales, according to the state DOT.

The on-line truck stop maps are just one part of state DOT’s freight planning program. The freight plan evaluates the state’s freight network, from highway, rail and air cargo to pipelines, and identifies ways to support their growth and performance to promote economic development.
